Funding explained
When plan management is included in your NDIS plan, the NDIS provides funding for a registered plan manager separately from the funding for your other supports.

How the funding works
If you choose plan management, the NDIS can include funding specifically for a registered plan manager. This is separate from the money allocated to the supports you use in daily life, so choosing plan management should not take money away from those other funded supports.
The plan manager claims the relevant plan-management fees from the allocated plan-management funding. You do not normally receive a separate bill for the service.
People often describe plan management as free because the participant does not pay the plan manager out of pocket and the funding is separate from other supports. More accurately, it is an NDIS-funded service when it is included in your plan.
Look at the funding-management section of your plan or ask your NDIS planner, Local Area Coordinator or Support Coordinator. You can also read the official NDIS guide to plan-managed funding.
